Safeguarding is not just about protecting children from deliberate harm. It includes many issues for schools, for example:

bullying, including cyber-bullying

child sexual exploitation

domestic violence

drug and substance misuse

educational visits

e-safety

female genital mutilation (FGM)

harassment and discrimination

intimate care

management of contractors/visitors

pupils' health and safety

racist abuse

preventing radicalisation

self-harm

use of physical intervention

There are many other issues and this list intends to capture some of the aspects of safeguarding.
