Every School Day Matters at Penn Wood School and Nursery

Penn Wood School has high expectations for your child from the moment they join our school. High attendance is necessary to ensure that your child benefits fully from the learning opportunities on offer.  

Absence during term time can seriously disrupt your child’s learning. We understand that genuine illness happens, but we expect our parents to promote good attendance and ensure your child attends school every day. 

What to do if your child is not attending school

If your child is not going to be in school please call the office on 01753 521811 or email the school via the ParentMail app.

Please do this before 9am on the first day of their absence, and every subsequent day they are off.

Extended Leave from School (eg holidays, trips to visit relatives, family emergencies)

At Penn Wood, our aim is to prepare pupils for their future lives and careers. With this in mind, we require parents to observe the school holidays as prescribed.

The headteacher will be unable to authorise holidays during term-time.  Please see below for more information on extended leave.
