A diverse governing body brings a wider range of perspectives and experiences to decision-making, and therefore fosters more robust discussions. This diversity can include differences in age, ethnicity, gender, disability, skills, experience and background. A diverse board can also act as a role model for the school community and wider society, demonstrating inclusion and valuing diverse perspectives.
