Year 2's Trip to Oxford Science Centre

Year 2 had a fantastic trip to Oxford Science Centre earlier this month and were fantastic representatives for Penn Wood School. We were met by some wonderful staff at the centre who led three activities for the classes. In the Exploration Zone, children could work like scientists by developing their observational and testing skills - some favourite activities from this were the flying ball zone, the wind tunnel, electrical circuits and the stop-motion station. Next up was a show in the Planetarium which provided children with an immersive journey into space, preparing them for their upcoming astronomy unit in their science lessons. Finally, a woodland walk was the perfect opportunity to consolidate their learning on plants and animals, identifying and classifying different plants and leaves. It was a fantastic day for all and we hope you have enjoyed hearing about their stories from the day!
