Year 5 Anglo Saxon Day

Year 5 had an exciting and immersive Anglo Saxon Day as part of their history topic! The children came to school dressed as Anglo-Saxons, helping to bring the past to life as they explored what life might have been like over a thousand years ago.

Throughout the day, pupils took part in a range of engaging activities. They wrote their names using Anglo-Saxon runes, played traditional games, and explored replica artefacts to learn more about Anglo-Saxon daily life and culture. One of the highlights of the day was reading a sequel to Beowulf, which inspired some brilliant discussion and storytelling.
