Ducklings in Year 1

Year 1 welcomed some very special visitors last week! We were joined by five duck eggs who came to Penn Wood School to finish their hatching journey with us. The children were lucky enough to watch a video of the first duckling hatching, which they were all fascinated by. Over the past two weeks, Year 1 have watched all five ducklings grow and have learnt lots about them in their science lessons. The children have loved the experience of watching an animal grow, play, eat their first meal and take their first swim! All of Year 1 will miss our five feathery friends, but they have made the ducklings’ first two weeks in the world very special.
