YEAR 2 - WHIPSNADE ZOO
Year 2 had the pleasure of visiting Whipsnade Zoo which linked to our science curriculum topic of Living things and their habitats. The children were be able to identify animals in their suited environments. The children had the exciting opportunity to attend an education workshop. They were taken on a tour by a member of staff around the meerkats, lions and zebras enclosures bringing to life the role camouflage plays in the survival of animals in the wild. They were even lucky enough to feel a patch of real zebra skin as well as see a real lion’s skull. They enjoyed spending time exploring the zoo and discovering how different animals adapted to their surroundings.
