YEAR 3 - GURDWARA TRIP
Year 3 have been studying Sikhism as part of our Religious Education. We took a trip to a local Gurdwara, where we were welcomed by the priest and we learnt about some of the Sikh rituals. We were very interested to find out about the history of Sikhism and the values of the religion. Did you know that Sikhism is 550 years old this year? We were played a special song (which is how Sikhs show praise to God) and the people at the Gurdwara were kind enough to prepare a meal for us to eat before we walked back to school. This trip helped to bring the religion to life for us and we loved being open-minded and respectful towards a religion and culture that most of didn't know very much about.
