YEAR 5 - ANGLO-SAXON DAY
In November, Year 5 took part in an Anglo-Saxon day. During the day, the children learnt many things about Anglo-Saxon England, from language and food right through to struggles for survival of the people. A particular highlight was the chance to observe and touch realistic artefacts from the time. The children enjoyed using their detective, observation and questioning skills to discover the uses for a range of items. The day was brought to a dramatic conclusion when the children worked as a team to re-enact a burial!
Overall, the day provided an inspiring introduction for the children's Anglo-Saxon History studies.
