• The Impact of Drumba at Penn Wood

  Drumba has become a fantastic addition to the PE curriculum at Penn Wood, providing pupils with an engaging way to develop their fitness, coordination and rhythm, while building confidence and teamwork. The sessions encourage every child to participate regardless of ability, creating an exclusive environment where pupils can express themselves, improve their listening skills and stay active through music and movement. The enthusiasm and enjoyment shown by the children has been evident throughout, and Drumba has made a positive contribution to both their physical wellbeing and their overall enjoyment of PE. We look forward to continuing to build on it's success in the future.

  

• Singing club at The Hexagon

  On Monday 22nd June, Singing Club took part in a Summer Singing Showcase alongside a number of primary and secondary schools from Slough. The children performed a selection of songs based on the theme Our World, Our Voice, including popular hits by Michael Jackson, Oasis, and The Beatles at The Hexagon.

   

  The grand finale, accompanied by the Slough Youth Orchestra and talented percussionists, featured Wavin' Flag, the famous World Cup anthem. As they sang, children waved flags representing nations from around the world, creating a vibrant and memorable celebration of unity and diversity.

   

  The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience of performing in such a large concert venue and were a credit to the school throughout the event.

  

• Big Smoke Brass visit

  On Thursday 11th June, the Key Stage 2 pupils at Penn Wood were treated to a special performance by the brass band, Big Smoke Brass. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about the different instruments and were captivated by the band's performances of popular songs. It was a wonderful opportunity for the pupils to experience live music and develop their appreciation of brass instruments. The children were engaged and enthusiastic throughout.
