Football Fever!
We were able to take a team of very talented footballers from year 5 and 6 to Bishopsgate School, to partake in a district round football league for the ESFA Pokemon National cup. The children faced some very tough competition, but their resilience and determination kept them striving for results. One of our players managed to score a fantastic goal in the final match and the whole tournament roared! Our spirits were high, but it wasn't quite enough to get us through to the finals.
A great day was had by all and Penn Wood are very proud of them. Well done!

This afternoon Year 5 had a visit from the Slough Fire and Rescue service. Children looked inside the fire engine and asked questions about how things work and what equipment is used for. They also got an opportunity to use the water hose!
We had a talk about the different types of emergencies and what to do if there was a fire. We learnt how to keep ourselves safe and even got to use a thermal imaging camera!
Year 3 participated in Stone Age Day to help consolidate their learning this term. They had the opportunity to take part in a Stone Age workshop where they went back in time and experienced what life was like in pre- historic times by looking at different artefacts. They also created their own cave paintings and made their very own clay pot. Everybody dressed up and looked fantastic!
Just Keep Swimming!
These little fishes enjoyed splashing around at the Discovery Swim event by SSSN at Eton Pool. They competed against local schools, completing a range of water skill specific races, using a range of strokes, techniques and most of all, using TEAMWORK!
I think it’s safe to say the day went swimmingly! Super effort!
